PLASTIC RECONSTRUCTIVE AND REGENERATIVE SURGERY

Abstract

This letter describes the case of an alloimmunized patient with sickle cell disease, who experienced an allergic transfusion reaction believed to be related to food allergy. The letter briefly discusses the pathophysiology of both acute and delayed allergic transfusion reactions.
