Abstract

Two well-executed studies in this issue of Blood Transfusion by Sivakaanthan and Chiaretti and colleagues both arrive at the same conclusion: we still do not know enough about transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI). TRALI is a very serious complication of blood transfusion and one of the leading causes of transfusion‐related morbidity and mortality in developed countries1,2.
